We are making important upgrades to improve your experience, and we appreciate your patience during this time. Please note that some amenities and areas of our park will be affected by this construction, but the facility will still be accessible during this time.

FAQ

1. What is the reason for the hockey rink renovation? The Chappelle Gardens
   community hockey rink has experienced shifting, causing the support piles to
   come out of the ground. A geotechnical survey revealed that the existing cast in
   place piles were installed too shallow, resulting in heaving of the piles and
   surrounding soil. The recommended solution is to replace the piles to ensure a
   safe long term stable structure.
2. Will the rink surface change? No, the asphalt surface inside the rink, which
   was replaced in 2022, will remain the same as it needs to be maintained as the
   rink surface.
3. When will the project take place? The project is anticipated to start on June 3
   and end on August 30.
4. Was this project approved and funded? Yes, the project was approved as part
   of the 2025 budget, which was shared with the full membership.
5. Will the hockey rink renovation affect other sporting activities? Yes, sporting
   items such as basketball and pickleball will be temporarily re-located during the
   construction period.
