The HiVE is Chappelle Gardens Residents Association’s new youth leadership program designed for residents ages 12–17. This pilot program gives young people the chance to grow as leaders while giving back to their community.

Participants commit to just 4 hours per month — two hours of hands-on leadership workshops and two hours of volunteer service at community events. Along the way, they’ll gain real-world experience, mentorship, and recognition that can be applied toward Edmonton Public Schools’ volunteer and leadership credit requirements.

Why join The HiVE?

  • Volunteer Hours Earn school-recognized volunteer credit while making a difference close to home.
  • Confidence – Practice public speaking, problem-solving, and teamwork in a supportive environment.
  • Skills – Learn practical leadership tools you can use at school, work, and beyond.
  • Connection – Make friends, build community, and contribute to events that bring people together.

SWARM Leadership Pillars

At the heart of The HiVE are the five SWARM leadership pillars:

  • S – Serve Your Community: Put people first and contribute meaningfully.

  • M – Make an Impact: Leave things better than you found them.

How it Works
