The HiVE Leadership Collective
The HiVE is Chappelle Gardens Residents Association’s youth leadership collective for residents ages 12–17. Designed for teens who want more than ordinary, The HiVE helps young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, create friendships, and make a real impact in their community.
This is not a sit-and-listen club or a volunteer sign-up list. The HiVE is a team. Members learn together, challenge themselves, explore leadership opportunities, and grow at their own pace.
Whether you’re brand new to leadership or already stepping into leadership roles at school or in your community, there is a place for you in The HiVE.
Why join The HiVE?
Volunteer Hours
Earn meaningful volunteer experience and school-recognized volunteer hours while making a difference close to home.
Build Real Skills
Develop practical leadership tools you can use at school, work, post-secondary applications, and future careers.
Grow Confidence
Practice communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership in a supportive environment.
Find Your People
Meet other teens, build friendships, and become part of a team that supports each other.
Try New Opportunities
Explore event planning, mentorship, youth programs, community projects, and future leadership roles.
Have Fun
Leadership should not feel like homework. Expect social events, team challenges, guest speakers, and experiences designed for teens.
Leadership that Grows with You
The HiVE uses a progression system based on experience, readiness, and participation rather than age or time spent in the program.
Members move through leadership levels at their own pace:
Explorer
Try new experiences, build confidence, and learn the basics.
Contributor
Take on responsibilities and begin helping lead projects and activities.
Facilitator
Support younger participants, assist with events, and help guide others.
Leader
Mentor newer members, lead initiatives, and help shape future HiVE experiences.
No one is expected to lead right away. Leadership opportunities grow alongside confidence and experience.
What Happens in The HiVE?
Leadership Workshops
Interactive sessions focused on communication, teamwork, confidence, leadership skills, community building, and personal growth.
Volunteer Experiences
Support community events, youth activities, seasonal programs, and behind-the-scenes projects.
Guest Speakers
Meet local leaders, entrepreneurs, creators, professionals, and changemakers from the community.
Social Events
Team challenges, celebrations, hangouts, and opportunities to build friendships and trust.
Leadership Opportunities
As members progress, they may help lead clubs, assist with events, mentor others, or help create programs of their own.
Recognition That Matters
Leadership deserves to be celebrated.
Members can earn milestone rewards, collectible items, special privileges, volunteer recognition, certificates, reference letters, leadership achievements, and unique HiVE experiences along the way.
Because everyone feels appreciated differently, recognition is built into the program in a variety of ways.
